Resident celebrates 52 years of love at Parkview Care Center

Carol Pelz has been a resident of Parkview Care Center in Parkview, Ind., for almost three years.
Joined by their daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters, Roy and Carol Pelz celebrated 52 years of marriage on Aug. 30, 2009, at the facility. They were also joined via phone by another daughter who lives in California.
Roy and Carol met in high school and were married in 1957 at Salem Methodist Church in Evansville, Ind.
Carol worked for Indiana Bell periodically and then worked for Koch Label after their children were raised. Carol’s favorite pastime was gardening in her flower beds.
They both retired from work in 2001. Roy retired from Sterling Brewery as advertising manager.
“We have been best friends for 52 years,” said Roy. “We have had very few arguments, and we always talked through things. We enjoy life to the fullest!”
