Mountain View Health Care Center partners with resource center to help school children
Posted on Thursday, October 29, 2009
Associates at Mountain View Health Care Center in Elkhorn City, Ky., came together during fall 2009 to help community children by donating snack bags.
“With the school year beginning, we knew many kids would be assisted through the local family resource center, mostly with school supplies,” said Serena Stiltner, admissions and marketing director. “We asked if we could establish a snack bag program where we would donate a snack bag to take home for each child in need from kindergarten to third grade.”
The facility’s bags consisted of pudding, applesauce, crackers, snack bars, juices and other tasty and nutritious items. Associates made 40 bags and delivered them to the school.
“Before we knew it, we had an entire office full of snacks!” said Stiltner.
