Michels appointed Life Care’s director of public relations

Leigh Michels was recently promoted to director of Life Care Centers of America’s Public Relations department.

Formerly public relations coordinator, Michels now leads the PR team in the communication efforts of the corporate office and Life Care facilities nationwide. She will oversee the production of marketing collateral, the company’s two major magazines and direct mail recruitment efforts. She will also contribute to media and community relations efforts.

“Leigh Michels is a gifted individual with talent and personality that make her an excellent choice for this important role in our company,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She is creative, demonstrates initiative and organization, and has a passion for the work she is called to do. Our associates in our centers throughout the country will be well served with the support she and the public relations department lend to their efforts.”

Michels graduated from Lee University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and an emphasis in public relations. She has been a member of Life Care’s public relations team for more than four years and was the associate editor of the special World War II edition of Life Care’s LEADER magazine.

“My time with Life Care thus far has been an incredible learning experience with wonderful mentors who continue to encourage and challenge me,” Michels said. “I’m excited to take this next opportunity in serving this company and our residents, while working alongside a team of talented public relations professionals.”

Originally from St. Simons Island, Ga., Michels currently resides in Cleveland.
