Local high school students from Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri, visited residents from Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau on Nov. 7, 2018.
“The students can learn a lot from the residents,” said Andrea Smith, family and consumer sciences instructor for the Future Career and Community Leaders of America Club. “I feel like some residents don’t have a lot of people come see them, so I think it’s good for them, too. I think this is something that benefits everyone.”
Students helped residents make wreaths to hang on their doors and played games to win a prize for each resident. This is the first time that the students have visited the skilled nursing facility, and Smith considered it a success.
