On Sept. 27, 2019, the Kansas Health Care Association named Elizabeth Stockebrand, executive director at Life Care Center of Burlington, its Administrator of the Year.
The award was presented during the KHCA’s annual awards banquet, held this year in Wichita.
“Beth, as she is called here, doesn’t do her job from the chair in her office,” said Sheryl Blome, director of nursing, who nominated Stockebrand. “She is frequently found out on the floor answering lights and talking with the residents to make sure they are being cared for and letting them know she is there for them.”
Stockebrand was also praised for supporting the facility’s staff, offering encouragement, a listening ear, a tear for those in sadness and laugh for those who are happy. She has prayed with families of dying residents and set the example of resident-centered care.
“It was a true honor to win KHCA Administrator of the Year!” said Stockebrand. “I believe this award is a strong reflection of the care we provide in our community. I see love and random acts of kindness shown to our residents on a daily basis from our staff members. Witnessing this compassion drives me to be a better leader, caregiver, co-worker, wife and mother. This is God’s work, and I am blessed to play a small part in enriching the lives of our residents.”
