Residents and associates lived soulfully at Life Care Center of Grandview, Missouri, during National Skilled Nursing Care Week 2019 – May 12-18.
The facility had a full week of activities for everyone, thanks to the efforts of Veleatha Wood-Bennett, activity director, and her team. Bennett has been at the facility for 22 years.
On Monday, May 12, associates and residents had a backyard barbecue with hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. They also played a modified version of volleyball.
Tuesday, May 13, was Carnival Day with funnel cakes, hot dogs, cotton candy and carnival games.
Wednesday, May 14, featured trivia with desserts, while on Thursday, May 15, residents and associates alike wore mismatched clothes. Friday, May 16, had a Soul Train ’70s theme.
“It was really fun, and I loved the food,” said one of the residents.
