Jan Lund developed cellulitis, a bacterial infection of the skin, in her leg, which impaired her mobility.

Lund came to Life Care Center of Banner Elk, North Carolina, for rehabilitation, on June 25, 2019. She needed help to walk and bathe herself, as well as to balance while standing, and she needed supervision for bed mobility, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed and grooming.

“Physical therapy helped me walk better and made me more confident in walking,” Lund said. “PT worked on strength, balance and walking. Occupational therapy helped me with my reaching and activities of daily living. I can’t say enough about the care I received here. Everyone is wonderful!”

Lund returned home on July 22 and is continuing therapy as an outpatient to continue to work on her strength and balance.
