The interdisciplinary team takes into account your condition and abilities to provide you with an outcome-oriented treatment plan. In conjunction with your physician, our team of nurses and therapists help you to set, and reach, your goals to attain your maximum potential. Your independence is important, and we want to help you restore your abilities.

Occupational therapy focuses on daily living activities to restore independence. These focus on everyday tasks (such as dressing, bathing and eating) as well as household management, meal planning and community interaction.

Occupational therapy may include:

Activities of daily living (ADL) training
Safety evaluation and education
Electrical stimulation to regain arm/hand use
Bowel and bladder training
Upper extremity rehabilitation
Energy conservation skills
Adaptive equipment training
Splinting
Home safety evaluations
Lymphedema treatment

At Rivergate Health Care Center and Rivergate Terrace, individuals in need of skilled nursing care or rehabilitation therapy will find the specialized programs they need. The Rivergate Complex has served the community for more than 40 years, and is a home away from home where residents receive care while maintaining their maximum level of independence.

Activities

An activity director plans a wide range of activities. Also, volunteers assist with activities, providing an important link to the resident’s community.

Dining

To promote socialization, residents are encouraged to eat in the facility dining room with a view of the landscaped courtyard. Supervised by a registered dietician, our fine dining program offers a select menu designed to meet nutritional needs with a variety of meal choices.

Accommodations

Our semiprivate rooms are furnished. Residents are encouraged to add personal touches to their rooms by bringing mementos from home. Outside the facility, landscaped courtyards provide a park-like setting.
