Life Care associates have faced many different seasons throughout this past year. Whether it be through a storm or clear skies, they have proven they are stronger together. No one is more aware of that than Sarah Beatty, LPN, at Life Care Center of Pueblo, Colorado.
Sarah was on the frontline when COVID-19 swept through our country and her town. After being out a week with shingles, Sarah came back to work to find her facility was dealing with an outbreak of COVID-19, affecting dozens of her fellow associates and residents. She dug in and got to work.
“Sarah worked our COVID-19 unit and took the time to personally comfort and soothe the concerns of residents who were worried,” said Brittany Hatchett, director of nursing.
Sarah became an LPN after realizing her job as a manager of a scrapbook store wasn’t fulfilling. She wanted to provide for her son, and becoming a nurse seemed like a good fit.
“It’s what God had for me to do,” said Sarah.
After doing her CNA clinical at Life Care Center of Pueblo, Sarah realized she loved the atmosphere and wanted to stay. She applied for a job opening and got to work right away. She is still working on the same floor she started on seven years ago.
“These residents need us,” said Sarah. “You can’t be in this field if you don’t care.”
