Here is a special thank you to the Life Care Center of Rochester team in Indiana.
Back in March, when the COVID-19 pandemic nightmare began, I was the acting executive director at Life Care Center of Rochester. As everyone was scared and unsure of what exactly was going on around the world, we put this activity into place every day.
At 9 a.m. a song was to be played over the speakers for all staff and residents in the building. Following the song, the activity director would lead the building in prayer over the speaker for all to hear. Then, at 9:30 every day, the management staff would gather around the flagpole while “God Bless the USA” was played loud and proud for all to hear.
I walked back into the Rochester facility today, and this very thing we put in place over seven months ago is still going strong and is part of facility life. It truly warmed my heart to be in this building today and to see the residents and staff still participating in this event that in the beginning brought peace to all of us even if it was only for about five minutes a day. They look forward to it and expect it every day.
Life Care Center of Rochester has managed to keep COVID-19 out of the building so far.
I couldn’t be prouder of this wonderful Rochester team. Thank you all for all you do and for carrying on this tradition and making Rochester such a wonderful place.
Champions truly live and work here!
