Whatever It Takes Champions for May 2026

Our Whatever It Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our patients, residents, and families. Here are four recent winners and their inspiring stories. We are proud to have associates like these who define what it means to be Champions of Care!

Chrissy Hallums, Business Office Manager at Life Care Center of Sparta

There is a resident at Life Care Center of Sparta with a wife who lives at another facility nearby. When this resident’s wife entered hospice recently, Chrissy arranged for the resident to go and see her during her final hours. Chrissy also provided him flowers to give to her.

Becky Roller, Driver at Life Care Center of Longmont

Becky is the daughter of a short-term therapy patient at Life Care Center of Longmont and had this to say about how Becky treated her and her father during his stay:

“I am honored to nominate Becky for the employee-of-the-month award. As my father’s medical durable power of attorney, I was able to follow closely her kind and efficient transportation services for my father while he was recuperating.

"On two occasions she took him into Boulder for important medical appointments. My father mentioned to me that his trips were very nice with her and especially stress-free. Out of sheer kindness, she was willing to transport my dad home when he was discharged, myself having been unable to accompany him home. My dad was very happy with her services and told me that all was perfect for him.

"We both thank her so much for making this transport so easy, comfortable, and stress-free for my father’s arrival home, which was an important occasion for him.”

Bryce Dillon, CNA at Life Care Center of Jefferson City

This nomination is from Dana, a resident at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. These are her words about Bryce and his care:

"See that young man? He is the “bomb-dot-com.” I appreciate that young man for coming in my room at the start of his shift and letting me know who my CNA will be for the evening. He always is smiling and has a nice attitude towards me and every resident that lives here. You really have a winner right there, and I want to make sure he is recognized in some way.”

Nancy Pagan, Dietary Aide at Life Care Center of Attleboro

When Nancy noticed that a resident had a passion for puzzles, she decided to buy him one. This simple but thoughtful gesture brought the resident joy and purpose and even inspired him to organize and lead a weekly puzzle group for the other residents!
