Whatever It Takes Champions – December 2023

Life Care Centers of America's Whatever it Takes Champions program honors associates who go beyond their job descriptions in caring for our skilled nursing patients and long-term care residents, their families and fellow associates. Here are four of the inspiring stories from our recent winners.

These associates are certainly Champions of Care!

Don Doss, Activities Assistant at Life Care Center of Colorado Springs, wanted to give his residents something extra to look forward to. Two times a week, he runs a card game for the residents before their dinner. And he does it all on his own time! The residents who play love their special pre-dinner routine and always work up a great appetite.

Thanks, Don, for going out of your way to ensure the residents enjoy themselves.

Yvette Talford, Assistant Business Office Manager at Life Care Center of Gray, has shown herself to be a true Champion of Care. Recently, she helped a resident identify and cut ties with someone who was taking her money and helped her communicate with the bank to settle the matter. She also regularly makes sure another of our residents has his favorite drinks each month and the occasional meal from Pals, one of his favorite restaurants.

We are proud to have supportive and thoughtful associates like Yvette.

Rolimps Moise, CNA at Life Care Center of Sarasota, has received so many nominations from residents and their family members that we just had to share one here!

Here is what one resident had to say about Rolimps and his exceptional, compassionate care:

"There are so many things I could say about this wonderful CNA! Patient, caring, hilarious, highly intelligent. He took time to actually speak to and talk with me at my lowest points.”

Thanks for being there for our residents, Rolimps!

Natavia Woods, CNA at Camellia Gardens of Life Care, is another associate whose care has touched the lives of our patients in ways that surpass our expectations. One resident decided to nominate Natavia and wanted to share this about her:

“Things are required of a CNA that can be embarrassing to the patient. She makes you feel like it’s the most ordinary thing and the shame I felt for having to ask was gone. Natavia makes you feel like you are her only patient while attending you even though I often saw this “blur” that was Natavia moving up and down halls taking care of others!”

We appreciate your attentive and kind service to our residents, Natavia.
