On June 18, families showed up in their vehicles at Life Care Center of Sparta, Tennessee, for a parade in honor of Father’s Day.
Each resident’s family was invited to drive by as the residents waved to their loved ones. Residents’ families were eager for visitation to open back up, so the team decided a parade would provide a perfect opportunity for residents to see loved ones while the facility waits for clearance to begin personal visitations under Tennessee’s new rules.
One resident, Fred Hillis, was excited to celebrate his 80th birthday during the parade. The activities staff put up tents to provide shade and gave the residents hats and sunscreen to keep them protected while enjoying the festivities.
“It was a blessing to our associates to assist our residents during our recent car parade celebrating Father’s Day,” said Latessa Morris, senior executive director. “Our goal during these challenging times is to provide every possible opportunity to offer communication between residents and their loved ones.”
