Life Care residents share their favorite TV shows

We asked our residents around the country to share their favorite TV shows and what makes them great. Here are some of their responses.

“I like ‘Little Rascals,’ ‘The Three Stooges’ and all the classic comedy ones because they bring laughter to my heart. Laughter is good medicine.”

“My favorite TV show is ‘Expedition Unknown.’ I like it because the person travels all over the world and learns history about different things.”

“‘Gunsmoke.’ The gun fighting scenes in the show are the best. Never gets old watching the reruns. I would encourage everybody to watch at least one episode.”

Terry B.

“’90-Day Fiancé” – I like watching because you don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s exciting.”

Ruth B.

“When I was a young kid, the show was called ‘I Remember Mama.’ It was such a good program. It was about a family that stuck together, Christian-based and family-based.”

Gloria L.

“I like the outdoor TV shows because I like being outside. Especially the shows that are filmed in Alaska. I have been there five times. I like watching shows about people who make pelts and coats out of animal fur.”

Darold K.

“‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.’ It is shot in New York, and that is my hometown.”

Dorothy C.

Life Care Center of New Port Richey, Florida

“‘The Golden Girls.’ I like the characters.”

Linda C.

Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau, Missouri

“Actually, I have two shows. One is ‘America’s Got Talent’ – so much great talent that most people would never see if it wasn’t for this program. I don’t always agree with the AGT judges, but that’s life. My second TV show that I like is ‘NCIS.’ The character Agent Sutter closely relates to what I did in my time in my military service, and the show is very well written, reasonably authentic and has a good cast, in my opinion!”

Don A.

Life Care Center of Tucson, Arizona

“My favorite show is ‘Chicago PD’ – I like the characters and the stories.”

Wilma K.

Life Care Center of Tullahoma, Tennessee

“‘Jeopardy!’ I used to like to see if I could answer the questions.”

Jean N.

“I like ‘Antiques Roadshow’ because I’ve had antiques in my life. I love the history of where they came from and how old they are. It is really interesting.”

Janet R.

“I love watching CNN because it is informational and I feel that I am in the loop. I like to see what is happening in the world around us, especially during these times.”

Hattie M.

“‘Days of Our Lives’ – I’ve been watching it since 1963.”

Allie S.

Mitchell Manor in Mitchell, Indiana

“‘Hee Haw’ – I like the music.”

Jim B.

Garden Terrace at Overland Park, Kansas

“Father didn’t like us watching TV, so we read a lot. Even to this day, I’m not one for TV as much as I would rather read a book.”

Ruth T.

Life Care Center of Estero, Florida

“I really like ‘I Love Lucy.’ She’s so silly!”

Jackie L.

Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau, Missouri

“My favorite show is ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ because it’s a lot of fun and a very pleasing show. I also love to hear the preaching on TV.”

Betty G.

Life Care Center of Gray, Tennessee

“I would have to say one of my favorite TV shows is ‘Supernatural.’ I like it for several reasons. One is the main characters are really cute, which is always a plus. Also, the brothers are on a new adventure every episode, hunting monsters and demons and even angels, protecting the world from the things that we aren’t ready for. It also has a great storyline of what brothers will do for each other.”

Lori L.

Life Care Center of Tucson, Arizona

“Fox News. They do a good job of reporting. Also like old movies and wrestling. I know it’s fake, but it’s good acting.”

Donald D.

Life Care Center of Sandpoint, Idaho

“I like Westerns because I like the people. Cowboys are the most honest people I know. They work without too much politics. They are very hard workers.”

Gene H.

Garden Terrace at Fort Worth, Texas

“I like the morning news every day and The Weather Channel at noon time for storm updates.”

Bernice L.

Life Care Center of Estero, Florida

“‘Little House on the Prairie.’ It’s a show about love and family. It’s a clean show without violence.”

Margret L.

“‘The Johnny Cash Show’ because he was a voice for the regular guy – a man’s man.”
