Facility Happenings – October 2025

Each month, our facilities host many exciting events that engage and uplift our residents and serve the community.

We love to showcase these events because they represent an often-overlooked aspect of care––fun! Staying active, engaging with others, and having fun all carry great benefits for body, mind, and spirit. And our residents are getting healthy doses of all three.

Here are a few facility events from the month of October!

Boxing Lessons at Life Care Center of Melbourne

Residents are puttin' ‘em up and rising to the challenge at Life Care Center Melbourne!

Boxing instructor Jonathan stopped by to give residents boxing lessons and a chance to blow off some steam, while getting a great workout. Boxing exercises are perfect for improving mobility, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, and balance. Rocky Balboa would be proud (and intimidated).

Muffins at Mayfair Village Nursing Care Center

Recently, the Mayfair Village kitchen was filled with laughter, fellowship, and the sweet aroma of baking muffins. Residents got together for a fun muffin-baking session, making the most of the opportunity to connect and create wonderful memories. And they said the muffins were delicious! We love to see our residents enjoying each other’s company and the simple pleasures in life.

Fall Flower Creations at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley

Sometimes October crafts are spooky; other times they burst with warmth and color. Memory care residents at our Nashoba Valley facility had a wonderful time crafting gorgeous fall flower arrangements to celebrate the season. It’s moments like these that bring so much joy and purpose to our residents in memory care.

Homemade Apple Butter Day at Life Care Center of Morristown

Residents at Life Care Center of Morristown just celebrated their FAVORITE day of the year: Homemade Apple Butter Day! It was an all-day outdoor affair, with everyone pitching in to help cook the apples and stir the butter. By the end of the day, residents and staff were savoring delicious homemade apple butter on warm biscuits. We can’t think of a better way to welcome the fall season!

Dining Out at Life Care Center of Haltom

Of course, not all fun Facility Happenings happen at the facilities!

To celebrate Food Service Workers Week, residents at Life Care Center of Haltom made a special trip to a local restaurant to enjoy a meal together. Looks like everyone had a great time getting out on the town and connecting with one another!
