Newsweek names 7 Life Care centers Best Nursing Homes

Newsweek magazine recently released a list of 2021 Best Nursing Homes, and Life Care Centers of America had seven facilities receive that honor.

Newsweek began its Best Nursing Homes list last year based on data from Statista Inc., a worldwide data research firm. Statista determined the Best Nursing Homes based on a combination of survey results from medical experts and data on staffing, health inspections and quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Twenty states were reviewed, and each state had a differing number of Best Nursing Homes listed and ranked.

This year, the statistics were much the same. They considered performance data from May 24, 2020, until Aug. 2, 2020, as well as peer recommendations.

However, this year, the data took into account the facility’s handling of the COVID-19 threat.

“We are extremely proud of the honor these facilities have earned, and it reflects the passion they have for caring and loving the residents entrusted to them,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “This recognition is also a testament of the courage and commitment of these associates, who valiantly disregarded their own personal risk to fight an invisible enemy. They are true champions of health care.”
