Updated: Wednesday, November 18, 2:40 p.m. MST

At Life Care Center of Colorado Springs, residents are - and have always been - our highest priority.

As of the morning of Nov. 18, here is the latest regarding COVID-19 in our facility:

  • Cumulatively, 26 residents have tested positive.
  • 22 of the 26 residents have recovered. (Three have discharged home.)
  • 1 resident who tested positive passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the resident.
  • Cumulatively, we have had 26 associates test positive for COVID-19.
  • 24 of these associates have recovered.
  • 2 associates are currently out recovering.

We are testing residents and staff members twice a week, and our residents are monitored multiple times a day and night for any symptoms or concerns. Every associate is also screened when they arrive for work and when they leave, including checking temperature and monitoring for any symptoms or concerns.

We have been and will continue to follow all CMS, CDC and state and local health department guidelines concerning COVID-19. These guidelines include restrictions on the entrance of visitors, family members and vendors.

Although visitation remains restricted, we’re happy to coordinate phone calls, video chats or window visits. We are staying in consistent communication with the families of our residents, and we always welcome their questions and contact.

We continue to work in partnership with the El Paso County Health Department and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and will follow the guidance they provide. We appreciate their continued support, as well as the support of the Colorado Springs community.
