Warm, welcoming, clean environment. My friend presented as well cared for with her room, thoughtfully decorated with cards and photographs from family and friends. Her caregiver joined us in her room to answer questions and give us an update. I was very impressed and delighted that my long time friend is in a place where she is so well cared for.

Clean, cheerful, efficient… I wish my friend in 127 A had the window as he is fully awake and spends the better part of his day bed-bound when not in rehab. His suite-mate is gone most of the day, is not fully-conscious and so, the cheerfulness and uplifting view of the window is lost. Would you consider moving him?

I have only experienced one CNA I wanted to report but I have tried to see if maybe it was me. If my husband is not happy neither am I so I will take my time to determine if its me or not. Please bear with me.

I also have mixed feelings about this facility. I will say that every in-person encounter I have had while visiting with my partner to see his grandfather has been pleasant. I can empathize with how hard it must be to care for someone else’s family. However, for someone like my partner who has made countless of sacrifices to support his grandfather and has pleaded his cases to every single facility and medical office he has been to, it baffles me how someone who barely has communicated with him and his family could express such great “concern”. I hate to mention names, but accountability must be held and start somewhere. Ginny reviewed at-home care with myself and my partner last week prior to his grandfather coming home. My partner described multiple times what home life will look like, including how he *was* working prior to the unfortunate circumstances that landed his grandfather at Hallmark but now is *not* working at all in order to help his grandfather transition into the last phases of his life. Ginny made it seem like everything sounded great. And it certainly was great. My boyfriend cares deeply for his grandfather and has done days and days and DAYS worth of work to ensure his comfort. So WHY did Adult Protective Services come to our house at 8:30 this morning with POLICE over nothing? I’m sorry, did you want us to send you a video of Grandpa sleeping safe and soundly in his bed in the living room where we can all see him with a bunch of cameras while we were trying to get another hour or two of sleep in? Because that’s what he was doing when those cops were there. Ginny, if you really want to care about people and show that outwardly, you’re going to need to practice more sensitivity and care. My partner gave you every specific detail he could about what at-home care would be like for this person you claimed you’ll miss soooo much, yet you didn’t ask him directly about his work schedule that you’re seemingly so concerned about. But you’ll give him a pamphlet of home nurses to call and spend extra dollars we don’t have for so that he could…leave the house? Not to mention, you met me! I live with them. When and if my partner wants to work, guess what? I’m there. And I’m capable at that. Also to mention, you gave my partner a booklet of different companies he could call to get a medical bed. We have a regular bed, but a medical bed would make things easier right? Well, let me tell you that his family drove all the way to Loveland to get a medical bed that they spent over $500 on, brought it straight back to the house and worked on it for - I kid you not - FOUR HOURS before giving up and deciding that the bed was inoperable. They spent gas money and spent hours retrieving the bed and experiencing horrible customer service only for something to not work, but you’re concerned and sent cops over here. For what, Ginny? I appreciate you giving us a heads up ahead of time that you would make this call. I would like to know if you perform this lovely courtesy for every patient or if you’re just doing your due diligence to make it harder for us to seek legal action revolving the reason why we had to readmit Grandpa back to the hospital last month while in Hallmark’s care because Hallmark not only stopped giving him his insulin after not even a week after being first arriving to Hallmark but also decided to not even check his blood sugar. This man is diabetic and his sugar levels were over 800 when he got to the hospital. He could have died. Regardless of what information was and was not received from his hospitals and medical centers, my partner who spends day and night regulating his grandfather’s blood sugar let you all know that he is on insulin. You do nothing else but take that seriously. Your facility and its representatives barely had an apology to provide. Who is responsible for nearly killing my partner’s family? We bless you guys with another chance after almost losing our loved one due to your facility’s negligence, and this is how you treat us. I’m appalled, frankly.

I have very mixed feelings about this place, but overall admittedly, this is one of the better nursing centers that I’ve seen most of the staff are friendly and prompt with their jobs so that’s always refreshing to have a family member in that environment. Their Occupational therapist Ginny, however chooses to deploy unprofessional behavior before I’ve even been introduced too properly keep in mind. Is literally mocking me, right after I simply replied okay to a statement she made about my grandfather. This is very disrespectful and unprofessional the next day she acts like a she’s a professional again going through how he eats etc as if I haven’t been there to see how my grandpa needed to be fed. So professional She even called adult protective services because of how concerned she was for my grandfather based on a prior statement that I had told her about my working schedule before my grandfather was coming home. Instead of just asking me if I was going to be home with my grandfather or having a conversation if I was going to continue to be working, that option clearly went out the door and straight to adult protective services, instead of a conversation that could’ve been had while she’s showing me how to do his new bed transfer just because I wanted to just make sure I’m going to be doing it properly when I get home or while we were hanging out with him. As much as I appreciate her concern, I definitely feel if they are that concerned instead of me having to spend my morning with the Jefferson County Police Department. They should’ve maybe tried to reach out and give me a phone number or something to where maybe they could come out and visit him themselves….if they’re that concerned…… or maybe to some people that could come help me out if they were concerned about me leaving all day while my grandfather Is at home by himself supposedly. So many people act concerned, but no one ever wants to help funny how that works. They also have my number as well. So if they’re that concerned they could’ve reached out to me directly and still can… This is not even including the hospital visit that my grandpa had to have while he was staying at THIS nursing facility because somehow they let his blood sugar get up to 800 Mg!!! My grandfather could’ve lost his life. So again that’s why I say I have very mixed feelings about this place because there is definitely good here, but there are definitely some areas that need to be worked on.
