Life Care Center of Valparaiso

I had an opportunity to tour Life Care with Angie this week and was impressed. It was welcoming and lively—it was great to see so many friendly interactions happening throughout the building. Staff and residents took the time to say hello…..and that stood out to me. Thank you everyone at Life Care Center for a pleasant experience!

I cannot thank the staff enough for all of the kindness, love and support they have shown my dad, known as "Papa Phil", over the last couple of months as well as towards myself and my family as well who visited often. The entire staff is wonderful, and they are very attentive to their jobs in order to help the residents. I recommend this place to others.

My dad was at Life Care Center of Valparaiso from January to March in the rehabilitation wing. We were extremely happy with everything and everyone at this facility. The love and care that the staff has for the residents is abundantly obvious: staff members such as Amber, John, Kimberly, Letty, Jamie, and Crystal, and all those he interacted with and who cared for his health and safety. He definitely felt and appreciated that. I wish I could give Life Care Center 10 stars. I give them my highest recommendation as a very satisfied family member.

During a visit to a relative in rehab, we were struck by the genuine care and authenticity of the staff. A restless patient couldn’t be calmed despite several attempts—then one staff member came in, sat with her, and instantly made her smile! He even worked on his computer right there beside her to keep her calm. Every staff member and patient passing by greeted him warmly (even fist-bumping), like he was a beloved figure in the community. His rapport with people is remarkable, and his sincerity shines through. Before writing this, I had read many reviews mentioning John—and our experience completely confirms them. The facility itself is a bit dated but surprisingly clean—they even wipe down the walls! Unlike most nursing homes that have that typical evening smell, this place stays fresh. My grandpa mentioned that the aides and therapists are excellent, too. The food is average and sometimes served cold, but the quality of care more than makes up for it. The facility can get busy, which is a testament to its reputation—good care naturally draws people in. It’s reassuring to see that places with genuinely dedicated staff still exist!

Life Care Center of Valparaiso is an amazing place. The staff is exceptional on the quality of care and compassion they give their residents. Angela Monahan is so incredibly amazing and the kindness and genuine care for people shines through. I highly recommend this center. Its quality and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. 🥰
