Statement from Canon Lodge Care Center regarding COVID-19

Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Canon City, CO

Updated: Thursday, May 14, 8:00 a.m. MDT

As of May 14, 2020, Cañon Lodge Care Center still has no residents or associates who are testing positive for COVID-19. We originally announced this on April 21, 2020.

We are so thankful but remain vigilant. We will continue in the same conservative manner that we have been operating under since our original positives were confirmed. The government-mandated visitation restrictions continue, but we are ready and willing to coordinate video calls, phone calls or window visits. Please contact us to schedule. Residents are still encouraged to remain in their rooms unless accompanied by a staff member to go outside or to therapy of some sort. When out of their rooms, residents wear masks just as all of the staff does who are in the building. Meals and activities are also taking place in the resident rooms with no communal dining or events. Our staff is continually rethinking activities to engage our residents in spite of these changes.

The residents are doing a marvelous job of quarantining themselves. Their cooperation with all the CDC and CMS guidelines is phenomenal, and we’re so proud to have them all as part of our facility family. Our associates continue to go above and beyond – just as they always have. It has taken the hard work of every person in the building, and we’re so thankful to all be working toward the common goal of protecting each other.
