Hurricane Ian Update

Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Punta Gorda, FL

In response to Gov. DeSantis' mandatory evacuation orders for sections of Charlotte County, the associates and residents of Life Care Center of Punta Gorda evacuated our facility on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Residents were safely relocated to Darcy Hall of Life Care in West Palm Beach, The Gardens Court in Palm Beach Gardens and Life Care Center of Sarasota.

Our associates and residents are safe and comfortable in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. We remain in close communication with local and state government emergency response personnel and attending physicians, as well as local authorities and transportation and utility partners. We will follow their guidance about when we can safely begin moving residents back to our facility.

As always, our residents are our highest priority, and the situation is being closely monitored on both the local and corporate level to ensure their safety and well-being. We are also doing everything we can to ensure their comfort and peace of mind.

We are grateful for the compassion and professionalism displayed by our staff during and after the hurricane. We are also thankful for the local authorities — including our local police and fire departments. We appreciate their bravery and expertise through the storm and everything they continue to do to protect our residents and associates and to keep our community safe.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our associates and residents — and with recovery efforts throughout the state of Florida — as we deal with the effects of Hurricane Ian.

We will continue to communicate with family members, and we will post updates as more information becomes available.
