Northwood Hills Care Center

My mom had the most wonderful experience on a recent weekend stay at Northwood Hills. We are from the KC area and my mom has terminal brain cancer (and is on hospice). She has been determined over the last year+ to stay alive long enough to attend the wedding of her grandson (first grandchild to get married). Her chances of making it were slim to none. She prevailed in somehow holding off glioblastoma multiforme from taking her, and then we had to start working on all the details of somehow getting her to the Stockton Lake area. This was an enormous ask, given she is completely wheelchair/bed bound, requires a hoyer lift, has a catheter, etc. After trying several corporate-owned care facilities near Stockton that didn’t allow short-term stays, her KC area hospice company (Ascend) was able to get in touch with Darla and Rita at Northwood Hills. Rita, Darla, and all the staff at Northwood Hills bent over backwards to make this dying wish happen for my mom. Everyone was so caring to her, and treated her like a queen. It was clearly evident that Rita, Darla, Jenny (who altered her work schedule to provide transportation to and from the wedding venue), and all the staff truly cared for my mom and were going to do whatever it took to make this dream of my mom’s a reality. Our family cannot thank you all enough for all you did in loving us through this time.

Social services helped me soo much to help place my grandmother. That young gentleman that’s the head of social services was so helpful and so nice and he likes the chiefs!!!

I would like to let the world of google know and just the world in general. That at the pleasant Northwood Hills facility you have good staff that care for the residents and get to know them as family but this place has someone representing the facility before the resident even gets there. She does an excellent job representing the facility and visiting them prior to admission to make sure they are a good fit. She has so many good qualities professional , bubbling, smart, outside the box thinker just basic human kindness. She is not all about the admission she is about helping people doing what’s best for them and she will help anyway she can. She has been doing this for many years, but you wouldn’t know it she isn’t jaded she is just as excited and hard working as ever. This wonderful person goes by the name Darla and we like her and what she represents.

Fantastic facility! One of the cleanest I have seen. Been working with them for several years and they have continued to impress me. My patients that have been there have always done well.

I contacted the Administrator, Rita about getting getting my husband into Northwood Hills. She worked all day with the hospital to make sure all his medical needs could be met. Got him there and the staff as well as therapy took good care of him. He's home and doing well, Thank you.
