Letter from Garden Terrace of Federal Way

To our valued family members:

First, I would like to say thank you for trusting Garden Terrace Healthcare Center of Federal Way to take care of your loved ones during this difficult time. We are working long hours to make sure we keep the residents and staff in our facility safe.

As of May 1, we have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the facility with residents or staff.

We are working closely with our corporate Life Care office, the State Department of Health and King County Health Department to ensure we are following all the proper procedures and have the necessary equipment to do our jobs.

At this time, all residents are encouraged to stay in their rooms as much as possible. If they need to come out for any reason, they are encouraged to wear a mask.

All staff are screened before they are to come to work to identify any signs and symptoms of COVID-19, and all staff are wearing masks while in the facility.

King County Department of Health has been directed by the state to push testing for long-term care facilities; we are planning to do facility-wide testing next week which will include all staff and residents. We will update you next week with the specifics dates and results.

If you have a loved one in our facility, we are sorry you can't come to visit in person, but you do have the ability to Facetime, Skype or Zoom with your loved ones. Please get in touch with our activities department in order to set up the video call.

Thank you, again; if you have any other questions, please reach out to our executive director:
