Each month, our facilities host many exciting events that engage and uplift our residents and serve the community.
We love to showcase these events because they represent an often overlooked aspect of care––fun! Staying active, engaging with others, and having fun all carry great benefits for body, mind, and spirit. And our residents are getting healthy doses of all three.

Residents at Life Care Center of Rhea County know how to exercise the best way possible––with an exciting game of balloon volleyball! This game is great for improving range of motion and coordination while giving the residents plenty of time to visit and laugh together. We’re glad they all had such a great time!

Volunteers from Nemaha County Hospital showed the Seneca residents how to recycle plastic grocery bags into decorative mats for homeless shelters. Would you know, one mat takes roughly 30 hours to complete!? The residents loved the project and helped produce some stunning mats. If anyone in the area would like to donate grocery bags, reach out to Nemaha County Hospital. Now that the residents are mat-making pros, maybe the hospital will let them make a few more.

At a recent group therapy session at Mayfair Village, residents gathered to connect, laugh, and enjoy some delicious strawberry shortcake. It turns out that fresh strawberries and fluffy whipped cream are the perfect companions to conversation, camaraderie, and teamwork. It's proof that therapy can be both healing and delicious.

We’ve got to hand it to the residents at Life Care Center of Rochester; they know how to do a poker night with style! These residents love their game nights, especially when there are cards involved. Word has it that the next game night will be a Euchre night.

Summer days may be driftin’ away, but Life Care Center of Elizabethton is making the most of their, uh, oh, summer nights. Residents had a blast singing along and tapping their toes to Grease for a special summer movie night! As they watched, sang, and tapped, they enjoyed hot pizza, buttery popcorn, and good company.
