Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

Approximately 5.3 million people in the United States suffer from Alzheimer's disease and related dementia disorders. Life Care Centers of America offers secured and unsecured, comprehensive rehab and post-acute care for patients with Alzheimer's and related dementias at many of its facilities.

Life Care's specially trained caregivers consider each resident's and patient's likes, dislikes, prior living status, personal habits, family involvement and the nature of their cognitive impairment as part of the caregiving plan to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Centers of Excellence

In addition, Life Care offers six specialized care centers focusing exclusively on Alzheimer's and dementia care, called Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Centers of Excellence.

Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Centers of Excellence are designed and staffed to accommodate the special needs of individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related ailments. Garden Terrace provides residents and patients with comfortable and stimulating environments. Specialized "neighborhoods" accommodate residents according to their disease stages and functional abilities, with decor and lighting designed specifically for dementia patients' needs.

In the last decade, more has been learned about Alzheimer's disease than in the previous century. Life Care Centers of America is proud to be part of these new frontiers of Alzheimer's care.

Should Alzheimer's Come, My Prayer

En route to our community's Walk to End Alzheimer's, for which I had been asked to give the invocation, questions popped up in my mind, "How should I pray? What would a person with Alzheimer's want their petition to God to be?" Then it struck me: "Should Alzheimer's come my way, what would my prayer be?" Here it is, and perhaps it is one that others might choose.
