Life Care Center of Sierra Vista, Arizona, is blessed to have several associates in multiple departments who have served our team for many years. We recently asked some of them about what makes our facility home for them.
Teresa Mullins, director of rehabilitation, has been with us since October 1995. She had served in the Army during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and was unable to find a position on Fort Huachuca. She met a Life Care associate and connected with our facility, starting as a certified nursing assistant when she was hired here. She originally wanted to become a nurse. However, therapy won her heart. She became an occupational therapy assistant and then was promoted to DOR.
“I love the patients, the staff and the positive outcomes,” Teresa shared. “I find the most rewarding part of my job to be able to see the patients progress and go home.”
Kendra Maxwell, licensed practical nurse, began working here in March 2005 after working in another long-term care setting.
“I have been at Life Care for 16 years because of the family atmosphere and great co-workers,” said Kendra. “Making a difference in the residents’ lives on a daily basis and seeing their smiles is what I find most rewarding about my job.”
Sterling Dillard, fellow LPN, worked for Life Care on and off in early 2000 while he was in active military duty. He officially joined Life Care Center of Sierra Vista in August 2010. He cited the staff and atmosphere as the reasons he has been a team member for 11 years.
“I love being able to assist someone in need and make their life a little easier and, hopefully, happy,” Sterling said.
Also in nursing, Tiana Boutte, CNA, has been with us since October 2010. She had always wanted to work at a nursing home and take care of people. She was hired in our dietary department before joining our nursing department.
“I have stayed all these years because I love the environment, and the staff is nice and welcoming,” Tiana shared. “I love seeing my patients improve and seeing the smiling faces of family members who are thankful their family members are taken care of.”
Thank you to each of these associates and the others on our team who have given of themselves and dedicated so many years to care for our precious residents!
