On Jan. 30, 2020, Doc Holliday, the dancing Arabian horse, made another visit to Life Care Center of Collegedale, Tennessee.
Doc Holliday is owned by Jala West, director of social work at the facility. After a successful debut at the center on May 16, 2017, Jala wanted to bring him back to spread more joy and entertainment to the residents. One resident, Mary Magee, has a love for horses and enjoyed riding her own prior to her illness and hospitalization.
“I enjoyed his gentle, sweet spirit,” said Mary. “I especially loved petting his soft velvet nose and big, beautiful, kind brown eyes. I would like to ride him one day. I had a bay color Morgan horse and a black Thoroughbred gelding. They were the light of my life!”
Residents and associates of Life Care Center of Collegedale also enjoyed watching Doc Holliday show off some of his talented dance moves.
Life Care operates or manages more than 200 skilled nursing, rehabilitation, Alzheimer's and senior living campuses in 27 states.
