Life Care Center of Charleston, South Carolina, recently earned a deficiency-free annual health survey.

To pass the state health survey each year, nursing facilities must meet hundreds of criteria. The survey focuses on a wide variety of care areas in the facility, including nursing care, patients’ rights, safety, food services and administration. Surveyors spend several days in the building reviewing paperwork, observing resident care, and interviewing residents and associates.

The survey was completed on June 25, 2021, and the facility found out the results on June 30.

“I’m grateful for the many years of experience in our Charleston team,” said Beth Cliett, executive director. “The harder we worked together, the closer we got as a team. I think the surveyors felt our determination to do our best for the residents. In turn, the residents were grateful for all we've done to help keep them as safe as possible. I’ve been here 27 years, and never have I had so many residents cheering for us to have a good survey.”

Cliett added, “God had a hand in the outcome of the survey. This inspires us to continue to serve our residents with all the love and respect they deserve.”
