Life Care Center of Greeneville, Tennessee, recently celebrated the 103rd birthday of a very special resident, Anne Shaffer.

Anne was born on Jan. 23, 1917, in Rochester, New York. At the age of 20, she moved to Buffalo, New York, to attend a local licensed practical nurse program. She went on to practice as a nurse for more than 40 years, including in nursery, pediatrics and obstetrics.

Over the years, Anne has also enjoyed gardening, knitting and cooking.

Life Care Center of Greeneville celebrated her 103rd birthday with a cake in her honor.

“This is an extremely special day at the facility for the staff and other residents as we celebrate such a milestone being 103 and the oldest resident in our facility,” said Lacey Kirby, activity director. “She is a special lady, and we are so thankful she is here with us!”
