Rose Grimm arrived at Life Care Center of Plainwell, Michigan, after an infection caused several falls and difficulty completing everyday tasks like dressing and bathing.

The facility provided occupational therapy to help Rose regain her functionality and independence. Therapists used strengthening equipment, such as a NuStep® cross trainer, and special training, including energy conservation, environmental modifications and use of a four-wheeled walker, to boost her recovery.

“She made excellent gains toward her goals using a personalized and tailored therapy program designed to meet her needs,” said Lindsay Brand, occupational therapist.

Rose started off the new year in a great way – returning home on Jan. 2 after making substantial progress!

When she left, Rose could walk independently with a walker and complete all activities of daily living without assistance. She was excited to return home with new abilities and energy.

“Therapy got me up and walking and involved with life,” Rose said. “My stay was fantastic. Life really is what you make it!”
