Sharon was initially admitted to the Terrace in November 2022, after a left total hip replacement. At that time, Sharon required extensive to total assist for all functional mobility and ADL's. She also admitted with a left thigh surgical wound measuring 8.4cm x 0.5cm with little drainage.
Due to changes in her medical status, Sharon’s rehabilitation stay was complicated by multiple hospitalizations over the next few months. With encouragement from family and staff, Sharon’s determination and hard work surpassed all setbacks and obstacles along her journey to recovery.
During her last admission, Sharon received negative pressure wound treatment which assisted in wound healing. Sharon’s wound improved, resulting in 90% closure. After extensive physical and occupational therapy along with wound care, Sharon completed her last rehabilitation stay in March of 2023 and returned to private residence.
At the time of discharge, Sharon required supervision for transfers and minimal assist for ADL’s secondary to NWB status of left leg. A huge improvement from requiring max assist of two people for care.
A couple months after returning to the community, Sharon visited the facility ambulating throughout the hallways using a walker independently as she thanked and praised the staff.
We want to congratulate Sharon on all of her hard work to achieve her goals!
"I wouldn't have been able to do it without the therapists."
