Mary Petzoldt came to Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau after a fall that resulted in a right hip fracture.

Mary admitted with weight bearing restrictions on her right leg and was unable to walk. She required moderate assistance with functional abilities, such bed mobility, transfers, bathing and dressing.

Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy developed a treatment plan to focus on improving Mary's functional ability. She and the therapists worked on improving her strength, balance, walking, cognition and ability to complete activities of daily living.

"All of the people were nice to me during my stay. Therapy has helped me, and I feel confident in going home," Mary said about her stay.

While in therapy, Mary regained full ability with bed mobility, transfers, bathing, toileting, dressing and walking! She was able to return home with confidence and independence.

Congratulations on your incredible progress, Mary! We are excited for you to return home with your family. And we thank you for choosing us for short-term therapy.
