Shirley Kesley was admitted to Life Care Center of Collegedale following her surgery after a hip dislocation. She was living home alone at the time of the injury and was unable to return home after her surgery.
At the time of her admission, Shirley needed assistance with all activities of daily living and was able to walk only ten feet with supervision.
Shirley received physical and occupational therapy five days a week. Each therapy discipline addressed all the skills she required to return to her prior level of ability and live independently.
Shirley's therapist stated, "Shirley worked so hard to meet her goals and return home."
After meeting all her goals in short-term therapy, Shirley returned home independently, requiring only adaptive equipment to help her transition.
We are so excited to see Shirley master her personal goal of being able to take care of herself and return home. We are thankful to Shirley for trusting Life Care Center of Collegedale with her rehabiltation and care needs. And we wish her all the best!
