Life Care Centers of America continually focuses on making the patients and residents in our facilities as comfortable as possible while providing the highest levels of care and service. In 2010, Life Care began placing on-site doctors in Life Care facilities across the country, making Life Care the first nursing home provider to offer this service.
These physicians work with the facility’s interdisciplinary team, medical director and other attending physicians in caring for each of the facility’s residents and patients. The doctor’s presence in the Life Care facility allows our caregivers to offer faster, more convenient patient and resident care. An on-site doctor enhances physician accessibility to patients and families, and aids in hospital transitions and pharmacy communications. Being on-site allows the doctor to personally respond to medical changes or emergencies in a timely manner.
The physicians in Life Care facilities recognize that working in long-term care and short-term rehab is more than a job – it is a calling. These individuals see the changes and trends in the nursing home industry and are excited to be an intricate part of shaping the future of this field.
The Life Care physician initiative was featured on the cover of the February 2012 edition of Provider magazine.
